Nick Aldis introduces the new Queen Of The Ring, Nia Jax. She lets everyone know she is their queen and therefore gets a title match against Bayley at SummerSlam. The Queen demands Bayley’s presence right now.
As Bayley makes her entrance, she is blindsided by Piper Niven. Nia Jax isn’t sure what to make of this. Chelsea Green lets her know that by the time SummerSlam comes around, she won’t be facing Bayley, because Piper Niven will be the champion. Jax doesn’t care who it is. She will annihilate whoever makes it to SummerSlam.
Backstage, AJ Styles lets Nick Aldis know how much he appreciates being given the time to address his future tonight.
#1. Tommaso Ciampa (w/ Johnny Gargano) vs. Austin Theory (w/ Grayson Waller) – Winner: Ciampaafter Waller distracted Theory
Backstage, Nick Aldis confirms Naomi will team with Bayley to wrestle Piper Niven and Chelsea Green. LA Knight enters the GM’s office to ask where Logan Paul is, so he and Aldis talk business.
After the break, LA Knight lets Kayla Braxton know he wants the United States title. Carmelo Hayes tries to insult him, but calls Logan Paul “LA” by mistake, so is destroyed by LA Knight.
#2. Andrade vs. Apollo Crews – Winner: Andrade
Paul Heyman questions Solo Sikoa’s lack of strategy while The Bloodline commits random acts of violence. The goal should be to make sure Cody Rhodes is in check for when Roman Reigns returns. Sikoa states that Cody is in check and doesn’t even know it. He orders Paul Heyman to sort out Kevin Owens in the next segment.
Kevin Owens tells us he went all the way to Saudi Arabia to have Randy Orton’s back, and he wanted to ensure The Bloodline did not ruin his chance at King Of The Ring. He figured he would be here to confront The Bloodline. Paul Heyman arrives to deal with this. He is here to represent them. Kevin Owens tells him to get to the point.
Heyman says Reigns respected Owens as a threat, but Sikoa does not. He is bringing in criminals in to The Bloodline. They are just looking for an excuse to take him out. If Kevin Owens keeps on calling out Solo’s name, they will do something bad. Heyman pleads with him to back off The Bloodline, please.
Kevin Owens doesn’t believe he isn’t pulling the strings. He fought the true Bloodline for years, and he has respect for those guys, but Sikoa and his two guys are just that, so he isn’t going to stop. Heyman becomes irate and hysterical, until he accidentally hits Owens with the microphone, so he quickly backtracks. The Bloodline shows up to fight Owens, who has backup with the Street Profits joining his side. They battle shortly before the show hits a commercial break.
#3. Street Profits (w/ B-Fab) vs. The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa (w/ Paul Heyman) – Winners: The Bloodline
Michin is asked about AJ Styles, but she hasn’t got an answer as he isn’t talking to The OC these days. Nia Jax interrupts the interview, so Michin steps to her.
#4. Piper Niven & Chelsea Green vs. Bayley & Naomi – Winners: Niven & Green
AJ Styles is shown respect by LA Knight and Cody Rhodes as he makes his way to the ring. He asks The Good Brothers to join him.
In the ring, AJ Styles says he has dwelled on what Nick Aldis said last week. If he wants another shot at the title, he would have to go to the back of the line. He is going to be honest. He just can’t do that at this point in his career. AJ says he has been doing this for over two decades. Blood, sweat, tears all over the world, so that he could become phenomenal. This past week, his son graduated high school, and he got to be there. They had a beautiful party at his house. At that point, he wondered how many of these moments has he missed.
So instead of being the Phenomenal AJ Styles, he stays at home and be a phenomenal father. He tells The Good Brothers he couldn’t do this without them. They are his brothers. Let’s do this one last time. They salute each other with a “Too Sweet”. Before he goes, he whispered something to Cody Rhodes. Now is the time he joins them. Rhodes joins them in the ring. AJ Styles compliments him on them having one of his greatest matches at Backlash.
Just so he knows, this is still the house that AJ Styles built. He called him out here to hand him the keys. Cody Rhodes thanks him for everything. They hug it out before AJ poses for the crowd. As Cody raises AJ’s arm up in the air… AJ hits him with a clothesline! He beats up Cody before launching him to the ringside floor with a Styles Clash.
