Can you report scam numbers?
There are multiple ways to report a scam call. Notably, you can report it to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which keeps a database of known scam numbers. To do so, visit the FTC website and fill out a complaint form.

Here’s how:
- Find the spam call you want to report and swipe on it to reveal the "Report" button
- Tap "Report" and select the reason why you’re reporting the call. You can choose from options such as "Spam," "Telemarketer," or "Scam"
- If you wish to provide additional information about the call, tap the "Add Details" button
- Tap "Submit" to report the call to Robokiller

How can I spot a phone scam?
Phone scams can be tricky to identify, as scammers use deceptive tactics to make their calls seem legitimate. However, there are certain signs that generally indicate a phone scam. A call might be a scam if:
- It’s unsolicited and from an unknown number
- The caller uses pressuring or threatening language
- The caller requests personal information such as your Social Security or bank account number
- The caller requests payment, such as via a prepaid gift card
- The caller behaves unprofessionally or becomes defensive when questioned about their reason for calling
