Who We're Looking ForWe are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Remote Math Competition Teacher to join our team. You will work with students in grades 3 through 8, helping them to understand math concepts, prepare for competitions, and foster a love for mathematics. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, demonstrating problem-solving techniques, and adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of our students.
ResponsibilitiesTeach higher elementary or middle school mathematics virtually through our teaching platform.
Engage and manage an online classroom of up to 18 students actively.
Prepare and deliver lessons using our curriculum and teaching guidance.
Grade homework and provide essential teaching-related services.
Communicate effectively with students and parents, offering timely and personalized feedback.
Typically work 20-40 hours per week, primarily during weekends or weekday afternoons.
QualificationsBachelor's degree or higher in any field; Education or STEM-related majors are preferred.
Applicants still pursuing a Bachelor's degree are also welcome.
Prior math teaching experience is a plus, but not required.
Experience in elementary math competition learning or teaching is a plus.
Commitment to teaching for at least two semesters starting from Fall 2024 (Fall: Aug - Dec; Spring: Jan - May; Summer: June - Aug).
Availability to work during weekday evenings and weekends.
Passionate about teaching and the education industry, highly responsible, and enjoy working with children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
CompensationTeaching Fee: $35-$40/hour; typically assigned 3-7 classes per week.
Non-Teaching Fee: $15-20/hour for tasks such as class preparation, grading homework, responding to parent messages, and providing periodic feedback.
Training Allowance: $20/hour for approximately 10 hours of training.
Student Retention Bonus: Targeted at 15% of the total teaching fee for long-term classes.
